EU Funding Clinics
For individuals, companies and community organisations
Do you have an idea and don’t know where to go or are you currently struggling with an application for funding? We are offering 30-minute clinics providing free advice, support and direction.
Slots are available via a Google Calendar, and we are looking forward to assisting as many people as possible to access EU funds.
Meetings can be online or in person and will accommodate communities in out of hours slots if needed or required.
The clinics will be curated by two of the region’s most experienced EU funding experts, Marilyn Reddan, Chief Executive at Galway Culture Company, and Stephen Geary, Funding Support Manager at PorterShed. They will invite other regional experts to advise and assist based on the needs arising for each individual, company or community organisation. Marilyn and Stephen will also be on hand to facilitate clinics.
In addition to the clinics, other supports will include a newsletter from Portershed and a curated and regularly updated list of EU opportunities on the Galway Culture Company website. Together with our partners, we aim to make access to information on funding as streamlined as possible and hope to provide assistance to as many people as we can.

About Stephen Geary
Funding Support Manager at PorterShed, Stephen advises and guides companies on their funding strategy, finding the right route to achieve their financing goals. He has worked internationally in network operations, telecommunications, biotechnology, and startup consultancy. Stephen has extensive experience in funding strategy, sourcing R&D finance, equity investment, due diligence process and proposal writing.
Stephen is a member of the Royal Society of Biology, and remains committed to STEM outreach, public policy around innovation and technology and science advocacy. He is a curator for Hello Tomorrow, a Paris-based international network of deep-tech startups and global corporations, investors and entrepreneurs. He also sits on the biotech/medtech advisory board of the Lifeboat Foundation in Nevada.
About Marilyn Reddan
Marilyn is an experienced and outcome-driven cultural executive with a proven ability to build effective relationships across all sectors. She has over 20 years of management and leadership experience in cultural management and European programmes in the public and local government service. She serves as a member of the panel of experts on European Capitals of Culture at the European Commission and is a member of the European Urban Initiative Pool of Experts. Marilyn is also on the selection panel for the appointment of the supervisory board in the next round of EIT.
Marilyn also sits on the expert advisory panel for PACESETTERS, a significant EU Horizon Project on Culture and Climate transition. Marilyn is currently Chief Executive at the Galway Culture Company, which is a partner to many organisations in the areas of European programmes and cultural networks. A significant part of her career to date has been ensuring that culture and art is a key driver for development that links with other sectors such as research, tourism, education, science, business, technology, environment, rural and urban development, climate and health.
