Project Description

Livefeed is a GRETB/Music Generation programme for young people (aged 13 – 18) interested in live music performance and event production. The programme was developed during Galway’s time as a European Capital of Culture. The programme provides opportunities for young people to perform and enjoy live music in safe, youth-friendly environments and empowers participants to pursue interests in live music performance and event production through taking part in youth music events facilitated by experienced musicians and crew. Livefeed supports the developing confidence of young people through positive music experiences and empowering social environments that promote self-worth, well-being and agency. Livefeed is not genre-specific; musicians, singers and songwriters from all musical backgrounds are welcome to attend Livefeed music workshops and performance opportunities. All participants will also undergo a professional sound check in preparation for the live performance. Young people’s participation in the Livefeed programme is not subject to a fee as a result of funding provided by Galway Culture Company together with Music Generation’s Local Music Education Partnership.
