Projects outcomes-what we expect from this project

With this project, we fostered good collaboration with the Galway Chamber of Commerce, connected the businesses and the cultural sectors, and offered the opportunity to learn more about the artistic visions driving Galway forward as a place to do business. The three events that took place were:

Culture Meets Business: Panel Discussion with Galway Cultural Leaders
The first talk included hearing from some of the artistic visions driving Galway forward as a wonderful place to do business. The session included a panel composed of Paul Fahy, Artistic Director of Galway International Arts Festival, Petal Pilly, Artistic Director of Blue Teapot Theatre Company, and Ulla Hokkanen, Creative Director, Galway Community Circus. The event took place on Tuesday 30 May at the Mick Lally Theatre.

Culture Meets Business: Gail Anderson
The second talk featured an incredible evening with Gail Anderson, author and former art director of Rolling Stone Magazine. The event took place on Monday 26 June at PorterShed.

Culture Meets Business: Panel Discussion with Galway Cultural Leaders
The third talk is a panel discussion featuring an introduction by Marilyn Gaughan-Reddan of Galway Culture Company with Marc Mac Lochlann, Artistic Director, Branar; Darach Ó Tuairisg, Meangadh, Fíbín and Fergal McGrath, Manager of the Town Hall Theatre with moderator Tracey Ferguson. The event took place on Wednesday 29 November at the Mick Lally Theatre.

This project was also shortlisted in the ‘Supporting Business’ category for the 2024 Chambers Ireland Awards.
