Masterclass: Crafting Questions for Creative Research

Date and Time: Friday, November 15, 10am-12pm
Location: Studio 3, O’Donoghue Centre, University of Galway

Join artist-in-residence Chelsea Thompto for this end-of-residency masterclass. Chelsea is the first incoming artist on the ArtX (Art, Research, and Technology Exchange) Program at the Centre for Creative Technologies at University of Galway in partnership with the Institute for Creativity, Arts, and Technology at Virginia Tech.

As a research based transdisciplinary artist working across digital and traditional media, Chelsea Thompto uses questions to guide her explorations into the politics of visibility, and the trans body as a site of political violence and potential.

In this combination artist talk and workshop, participants will be introduced to the artist’s studio art practice and be invited to consider the questions that drive their own research and academic/creative interests.

This masterclass is free but registration is required.
