Beta Circus Open Call For Circus Artists
BETA CIRCUS Participatory experience activities are scheduled between 2023 and 2025, taking place in 4 European countries: Italy, Latvia, Portugal and Serbia.
Who can apply for this open call?
BETA CIRCUS Participatory Experience is open to circus artistic collectives or individuals with or without experience in participatory circus but interested to join the participatory arts methodology and apply it to circus arts. There is no age limit, however applicants should demonstrate a strong motivation to develop new innovative work. Applications will be accepted from all European Union countries, as well as other countries currently eligible for Creative Europe Programme.
What benefits will participants have?
Each selected participant (single artist or group, (up to 4 people) will attend the capacity building programme of BETA CIRCUS Participatory experience free of charge, as well as the mentoring programme with a designated expert mentor. The project will cover:
- Reimbursement of travel expenses (international flights and local transportation at destination) for 2 artistic laboratories and the artistic experience (up to €300/person/trip; 3 trips in total during the project);
- Accommodation for: a) the 2 artistic laboratories (up to 2 twin rooms/4 nights for each lab); b) the artistic experience (1 apartment equipped with kitchen, up to 21 days);
- Meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) for the artistic laboratories (3 days each lab).
BETA CIRCUS partners will pay 3.500 EURO to each selected group/artist to contribute to the artistic experience and final performance. No meals will be provided for the artistic experience (residency and performances); per diems are included in the payment. This financial contribution of 3.500 EURO will be paid once per selected artistic proposal (it is a contribution for the project as a whole, not to each individual participant in a team).
In addition, participants will benefit from an international visibility and network provided by project partners.
